Private Events
Create Unforgettable Play Experiences with Private Popup Events!
Rooted in Play offers a limited number of private, fee-for-service Popup events for schools, organizations, and families who want to bring rich, child-led play into their own space.
These events are based on playwork principles and closely resemble our free Popup Adventure Playgrounds, sharing the same philosophy, care, and respect for children’s play. The primary difference is in scheduling and funding.
If you’re curious whether a private Popup is the right fit, here’s a clear picture of what to expect.
What these events are:
Private Popup events temporarily transform a space to support child-led, open-ended play.
We provide a curated selection of loose parts and materials that encourage creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and experimentation. Children decide how and where to participate, and play develops naturally without imposed schedules or required activities.
Trained playworkers are present to support emerging play, observe attentively, and manage risk appropriately, while ensuring children remain in control of their play.
What tends to work best:
These events are ideal for groups that value open-ended play and wish to see what children create when given time, space, and trust.
These events may not be suitable if you are seeking structured games, guided stations, or a traditional party host. Rooted in Play events focus on meaningful play rather than entertainment or formal programming.
About supervision and caregiver involvement:
Private Popup events are shared experiences where caregivers remain present and engaged with children, supported by our playworkers. This approach fosters a relaxed, connected environment for safe and authentic play.
Private events vs. free community popups: What’s the difference?
Our free monthly Popup Adventure Playgrounds are grant-funded and hosted in specific locations based on funding requirements.
Private events are:
Fee-for-service
Scheduled by request
Hosted in spaces secured by the requesting group
Both experiences share the same playwork philosophy and commitment to high-quality play. The only difference is the funding structure, not the intention or level of care.
If you are interested in offering this type of play environment, we welcome the opportunity to discuss options for your space.
