Our Volunteers Support Play for All

Rooted in Play exists to strengthen the mental health of children and communities by protecting and expanding every child’s right to play. Our Pop-up Adventure Playgrounds and Every Child Plays camps are intentionally inclusive, child-led environments. Children direct their own play. Adults observe, support safety, and intervene thoughtfully when necessary.

Volunteering with us means stepping into that philosophy.

What to know before you apply

  • Our programs are active, outdoors, and often messy.

  • We serve children of all abilities, including children with high support needs.

  • We prioritize dignity, autonomy, and belonging for every child.

  • Volunteers are expected to follow our Playwork-informed approach.
